It's almost here

Fall Ya'll,  It's almost here!!!!
This weekend I was thrilled for the return of College Football, and this Thursday the return of Pro Football!  You see I am in a fantasy football league, I don't know as much about the sport as the guys but I sure give it my best. :)  For me it's more about getting together and having a good time, but this year I'm determined to learn more. Haha  And so with eyes pealed and ears open we embark on Football season! (Happy Dance)
Samuel and I enjoyed our time in Georgia at my parents, for those of you that might be wondering.  Samuel enjoyed helping Nona (my mom) mow the grass on the riding or zero turn mower. haha
They had a blast together!

I loved visiting with and seeing people that I hadn't seen in awhile and introducing Samuel to people that may have seen pictures but never actually met him.  It's a way to remember what amazing things the Lord has done in our lives.  He's brought us through many Challenges and will see us through to completion.  That is very encouraging for me.
August 31st marked a year post surgery and Samuel is doing AMAZING! He had a cardiology appointment on Tuesday of last week and he weighed in at 25.6lbs, big boy! Our Cardiologist said everything looked wonderful and that when they did the EKG it looked like he was pacing 90-100% on his own, so they sent him home on a halter monitor so they could have the cold hard facts and know what was really going on.  I'm hoping for great news and that this means many we would get the pacemaker out much sooner than originally thought, pray that this would be the case!  I am so humbled that the Lord would give me such a cute daily reminder of His greatness and Love for us in Samuel.  Our story could be so very different and yet it's not.  Though it's been and still is at times a challenge, by the grace of God we make it through each day.  The Lord is teaching me so many things, some of which i'm not wanting to learn.
Please pray for me as I desire to Love and serve my Husband and Son in the most God glorifying way that I can, that I would die to self and serve with great Joy.
Ok, on to other things.
Scott had his 26th birthday on the 20th of August, my mom graciously watched Samuel and allowed us to have a few wonderful days in Charleston, SC. We were able to stay with and I also got to meet Scott's Uncle Carl, his lovely wife Tara and their sweet Chocolate lab Bella.  We had a great time!

We came home early due to work related issues for Scott.  But it was a wonderful two weeks for Samuel and Me and a great 4 days for Scott.
Now life is pretty much back to normal.  I'm back to watching Cooper and Samuel is back to all his Therapy.
A big thank you to all the people that follow us and to everyone that has us one prayer lists or is just praying for us personally, I appreciate it more than you know!  I'm hoping to start back to my once a week posts now that things have gotten back to normal.
Oh, for those of you wondering about my dad He's doing really well.  He is starting to get his hair back and looking and feeling great. We had the opportunity to go to one of his treatments while we were visiting.  He and my mom are such an amazing, positive presence at the hospital and the other patients are encouraged to have them around.  I enjoyed talking with a few of the other patients and continuing that positive attitude.
My younger sister Jes and her husband, for those of you that don't know, are expecting a little Girl in December.  They have chosen the name Jane and are very excited about the addition to their family.  So far everything is going very smoothly with her pregnancy and little Jane is developing beautifully.  Please keep them all in your prayers as well that Jes would not take on to much and that they would prepare and enjoy this time and new season of their lives.
Well I am going to close this entry and hope and pray that it finds those reading it well and encouraged.
May your Week be full of Joy! And may you find encouragement in the Lord abundantly.

Much Love to all from Kentucky

crazy week

Samuel and I had a super crazy week last week!  We were helping out our church by working in the nursery during VBS!  It was a lot of fun but man was I warn out by the end of every day.  We had to be there every morning at 8am and we weren't usually home till close to 1pm. We had about 14 kids in there every day.  I think i'm still trying to recover.  haha  It was a lot of fun and I got to know two woman of our church better. :) It was also a big week for our family as we got the results from my dad's CT scan that happened last Friday as well as the big news of the gender of Samuel's future cousin. :)
I'll give you the news one at a time.  Dad's results from the CT scan were great!  There is no new growth and he started back on maintenance chemo with a PET scan happening in a few months.  Continue to pray that God would work continued miracles in his body and restore him to complete health.  Thank you to everyone who has been and continues to pray for my dad.  The Lord continues to humble me on a constant basis by showing me He has authority over all things.
My sister Jes and her husband Drew told family on Mother's Day that they were expecting and on Thursday of last week we were waiting to hear what baby Epting would be.  I'm excited to say we will be adding a little girl to the family! I get so excited about babies, people really have no idea how excited I get.  haha   So this little girl belonging to our family makes it beyond exciting.
Today is our busy day this week, Samuel had a visit with his Hearing teacher at 9:30 this morning his first dental appointment at noon and then i have my last water fitness class for the month at 7 this evening.  Glad we only have one busy day this week. Especially sense I feel like I am coming down with something, please pray I don't get sick.
I will be trying to spend a majority of my week cleaning and getting everything ready for our trip to Georgia at the beginning of the month, which I am soooo excited about.
Glad to be spending some time with me parents and siblings.
here are some pictures from the last week or so as well as a video (it's not super long but i'll explain).
Samuel and i waiting for daddy to get home...haha

This video is from Friday night 7/20/12.  Scott's parents came over for dinner and brought their dog Lily with them.  Samuel thought it was funny and fun to feed the dog.  He would stick his hand out and she would come lick it and he would die laughing.  I tried to get a video of that but it never worked out.
This picture is from family day 7/15/12.  Scott is pieing one of the officers...haha he was a little excited

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

ah... the weekend!

Here is a video I happen to take yesterday...For some reason Samuel found himself very amusing.  He was doing this for awhile but I only caught the end of it.  My phone was on the bookcase in his room so I had to figure out how to get my phone without him seeing me.  Successful but then he saw me and it was all over.  He was hysterically laughing at one point, it was really funny! I only wish I had caught it all.
Samuel has started getting brave this week and trying new things as far as moving more independently.  He will go from kneeling at the bench in his room to sitting, the go to hands and knees and back to sitting.  Can't wait for him to put it all together and start hopefully crawling.  I've started helping him crawl down the hall on occasion.  He can move his hands but I really feel like there is a small disconnect between his brain and his legs.  So, I just keep reminding him they are there. haha
Samuel's also been getting most of his molars at once which has left us tired and super snotty, which hasn't been fun for him and has been a little yucky for me.  haha
Work has kept Scott super busy this week as they figured out they are way off their timeline and deadline for getting things done.  So it looks like things won't be slowing down for him at all for awhile.
I taught my first solo water fitness class yesterday morning!  It went well! I want to thank everyone who prayed for me because I wasn't nervous at all and was able to give the 8 ladies that showed up a pretty decent class for my first one.  I've discovered that I can't work off a cheat sheet like most instructors do, it makes me to nervous and distracted and less fluid.  So, I did it my way and it worked.  :)  I have another class next Saturday morning and then an evening class Monday the 23rd and then I am done for awhile as Samuel and I will be visiting family in August.  Which I'm really excited about!
I'll be helping out this week in the Nursery at Church for VBS, I have to be there at 8a.m. and VBS is from 9-12.  This will be an interesting week as I've never had to have both Samuel and myself ready and somewhere by 8am every single day of the week.  Pray I manage my time well.
We have Family Day for Scott's unit tomorrow, which should be a fun change of pace. I'll be sure to take some pictures and post them early next week.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

playing catch up...kind of

Here are pictures from the last week or so.

I absolutely LOVE the picture above! His cute little nose makes me happy, plus it looks exactly the same as his ultrasound picture. Yes, I loved it even back then.  So stinken cute!
These two are pictures from the 4th of July.  Samuel at his first chip, now that he's getting all of his molars at once. Seriously He's gotten 3 in the last two weeks and I'm pretty sure i saw 3 more on their way in last night when I was brushing his teeth.  Crazy!  He doesn't get to fussy although his nose does get rather runny and he sounds more congested.  Poor baby.  We had a great 4th, went over to a friend of Scott's family's house as they do a bbq and fireworks every year. We always have a great time. Samuel Loved the fireworks and didn't go to bed till close to 11:30 that night, partly because we didn't get home till 10:45 and partly because i think it took him awhile to wind down.  Needless to say we all had a great time.
Here are the pictures of Samuel's new room.  We moved him from the smaller front bedroom to the much larger back bedroom and he is now directly across from our room.   So far it's proved to be a great set up and idea.  He plays well in there and I am slowly bringing all his toys in the room for him to have to play with.  It will also be better next month when I start watching my extra little man again.  I can put them both in the room and let them play, or destroy whatever and i'll only need one baby gate to do so.  Much better than having to figure out how i'm going to keep them contained in the dining room. haha
Continue to pray for my dad as he has his CT scan this week.  I know we have been praying for total and complete healing,  I have all faith that the Lord can do this!  Asking you all to be praying along with us for this.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!  I'll try to do a better job with pictures this week.
I'm trying to get the house in better shape and lacking energy to want to do it.  Feels like a never ending vicious cycle that I have begun to loath. haha
Pray for me this week as I have my first solo water fitness class on Friday.  I'm nervous on and off about it.  I couldn't get to bed last night till close to one o'clock and in that time my mind keep going a million miles an hour and at one point I thought i was going to have a panic attack.  I'm such a fearful person by nature and as Friday gets closer and closer I get even more fearful.  Pray that I would rest in the Lord and have confidence in the abilities He has given me.  I have some confidence after teaching the cardio portion of last Friday's class but it comes and goes.  haha  I'll shadow again on Thursday before my solo class on Friday, Pray everything goes smoothly and that I don't let my nerves get the better of me as I sometimes do.
Well, thanks for reading!
Hope all reading this are well.

Love from your Kentucky Family,

Feeling nothing but sluggish...uhhh

I have felt nothing but sluggish and slow, the heat sure isn't helping either!  I really think I will be talking to my Endocrinologist when I see him, or whoever I end up seeing on August 3rd.  I absolutely hate feeling this way.  I really think I need to change a lot of my habits too and start working out again.  Just feel tired!
I've taken a few pictures this week but not as many as I should have.  I've been trying to get the house put back together after last weekends switch...proved more difficult than I thought, Samuel was a little difficult this week (he's working on molars.  He's still such a sweet boy though, you'd never know he was cutting teeth.
This week I've loved watching him eat, he gets so happy and funny when he eats...haha He's usually COVERED in food!  This week his favorite thing to eat was blueberries! Blueberries with lunch, in yogurt, whatever, he loved them.
Hopefully i'll have his room cleaned up and put back together before the weekend is over and will be able to post some pictures of that Monday or sometime next week.  All the toys are now in his room!  I'm so excited to have the living areas back to what they were intended for.  Samuel also go a new walker this week, I'll have to take a picture and post that too.  It's Gold...haha  A little better than the sparkly green one he had before.  This one allows him a little more freedom, so far he's not thrilled with it but we've only had it three days.  haha   Time and a visit with Ms. Pat  will tell his true feelings toward it.  I'll keep giving him the option to use it. :)
Hope everyone is staying cool, I keep praying for rain and a little bit of a cool down.  I'm not a fan of 100-104 degree weather.  I'm pretty bummed too that tomorrow is the 1st of July and I still don't have a tan of any kind.  Haha  So very very sad!
Well Here are pictures from Friday, Hope you enjoy my messy boy as much as I do.  He always makes me laugh!
Stay cool and enjoy your weekends!

Busy Weekend!

Today Scott and I spent the afternoon moving Samuel into the former spare room and the spare room into Samuel's old room.  So, Samuel got to sleep in our bed surrounded by pillows. He ended up sleeping for 4 or 5 hours. :)  We got a lot done, Thank You Samuel!    The pictures below are of Scott and Samuel on Friday. Samuel had fun helping Daddy put in a new mother board. :)

This is the new living room lay out...we really like it! haha

Here is a photo of the spare room, I'm very very happy we switched them.  Not so happy that I have to put everything back together.
We had a great weekend, and managed to get a lot done.  I now have an even busier week ahead of me.

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend as well, hoping and praying each of you has a great week.

Much Love to all!

video just for all of you!

Here is a video Scott took yesterday evening.  Samuel loves walking up and down the hall to talk to himself in the large mirror at the end of the hall and look at the pictures of Nona, Granddad, Uncle Blake, Auntie Rachel, and Aunt Birdie (Jes).  He Loves to point to all of them as I say their names, I think he almost has Granddad and especially Nona down.  If I say where's Nona, he most of the time points straight to my mom.  It's so cute. I've heard him say Nona a couple times and something that sounds like Granddad.  We will keep working on all their names.  I'm trying to print out pictures of all his Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles as well as animals, the house, his bed and a few other things we see often. I have been told by the PT and his DI teacher that this will be very beneficial as well as I would think help him work on recognition.  Hoping to get that done for him in the next week.    I hope you enjoy this video of him walking!  He's getting really good at it.
I've started shadowing 2-3 times a week at the Y and have three classes scheduled to teach on my own in the month of July.  I'm excited and a little nervous.  Keep me in your prayers as I will be teaching a segment in each of the 3 classes i'll be shadowing on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  All classes are shallow water, low impact and have an older crowd.  But I still want to do the best job I can and give these ladies a great class.
I can't believe it's almost July!  Hopefully everyone has great and festive plans for the 4th.  I'm not sure exactly what we will be doing but we usually get together with some of Scott's friends who do fireworks at their house. :)
Continue to Pray for my dad as he has his CT scan on the 13th of July.  Continue to pray against the Cancer and pray for it's complete elimination!  Samuel and I pray for God to take away Granddads cancer every night and have faith that He will do it.
I've gotten some feedback from people that lets me know that some people are reading this, was never really sure.  If I get behind just send me a email or comment, helps keep me going knowing that people are reading.
I hope you are all having an amazing weekend.  We've been spending most of the day trying to get things organized in our spare room and are moving some things around.  Might try and post pictures if we get things done by the end of the weekend.

Much Love to all from Kentucky!
